Every year, twice a year, I attend the Vintage Market Days of Dayton-Cincinnati, as many of you know. One of my favorite vendors, Stanley’s Produce and Bakery, has the best pimento cheese and I stock up on it. Their flavors are incredible – Regular, Smoked Asiago, Jalapeno Cheddar… I buy several containers and keep them in my freezer for year-round enjoyment.

Until recently! I decided to try my hand at a flavored pimento cheese, and it’s been such a hit. I’ve been making different variations, and the best part is the base stays the same, you just swap out the cheese and add a few other ingredients should the recipe need it.

Ingredients:

Base Recipe –

• 1 cup Mayonnaise

• 1 7-oz jar Pimientos, drained and patted dry

• 1 block (8 oz) Sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded

• 2 tsp Worcestshire sauce

• ½ tsp Garlic powder

• ¼ tsp Cayenne pepper

Additional for this recipe –

• 4 oz Gruyere Cheese, shredded

• 4 oz Swiss Cheese, shredded

Instructions:

1.) In a mixing bowl, add the Mayonnaise, Worcesteshire, Garlic powder, Cayenne pepper, and Pimientos. Stir to combine.

2.) Add in the cheese, one at a time and gently stir to make sure all of the cheese is saturated.

3.) Best to be served after refrigerating for several hours or overnight.

4.) Serve with crackers, chips, vegetable slices such as cucumbers, carrot sticks, and celery, on burgers, grilled cheese, and turkey or ham sandwiches.

Enjoy!
